President’s Cup Sunday 16th July 2017
We enjoyed an entertaining afternoons tennis. The tournament format caters for all standards, so it's a good opportunity for mixed tennis, fair competition and everyone has the chance to win. We had a great turnout. It was pretty hectic with close matches, which lead to plenty of practice at tie-breaks for players. The Cup was won by Matthew Moloney and Glenys Kennedy. Ladies Rosebowl Tournament Saturday 16th May 2015
The event was organised by the Ladies Captain Tricia Harland, who went on to win the tournament with Caroline Butler. As Tricia couldn't exactly present the trophy to herself and Caroline, the trophy was presented by committee member Josie Vass. The Runners up were Jane Cooper and Glenys Kennedy. 12 ladies took part. It was a most enjoyable morning, with good tennis, lots of chat, and a buffet lunch accompanied by Pimms!
The Season Opening Tournament 19th April 2015
The event was organised by the Club Chairman Bob Griffith. It was a mixed doubles tournament. Each match consisted of eight games. The players switched partners at the "4 game / halfway" point. Each player then had their own individual tally of games won in each match. At the end of the sequence of matches the top two men and the top two ladies played the final mixed doubles match, whilst the rest of the players cheered them on and tucked into the teas/coffees and buffet !
President’s Cup Sunday 13th July 2014
The event started at 2pm on Sunday afternoon 13th July. Club members and friends enjoyed an entertaining afternoons tennis. The tournament is a mixed doubles event which is handicapped so that everyone gets a chance to compete. The format caters for all standards so it is a good opportunity for some mixed tennis together with some competition.
The afternoon included afternoon tea, with friends and family included. So about 4.30pm refreshments were shared and served. If you would like to see a few more photos from the day click on the photos below.

President’s Cup Sunday 14th July 2013
We had an enjoyable and entertaining afternoons tennis. The Club grounds were looking great. The President’s Cup is a doubles tournament where partners swap after 4 games then play 4 more games to form a fixed 8 games set. This gives players the chance to mix. The points system produces a score per player. The afternoon included chilled drinks, tea and refreshments, which were very much appreciated in the soaring temperatures. After the refreshments the Final took place. The contenders in the Final were Bob Griffith, Caroline Bilbie, Will Britten and Helen Britten. The winners this year were Will Britten and Helen Britten ( as seen in the photo on the right above ).
