Health. Social. Life.
Not just tennis.

Maybe you've never picked up a racket.
Maybe you've been discouraged by the physicality on display while watching Wimbledon.
Maybe you've been told you're too old. That tennis is a game for younger people. And anyway, it's too expensive.
At Rushmere, many of our older members hadn't picked up a racket since their school days.
We have members who are 50, 60, 70 all playing regular social tennis, regardless of ability or experience.
We have competitive rates for new members.
So go on ... give it a go!
HEALTH
Lots of our members had no interest in tennis before joining, but decided to give it a go because of the numerous health benefits.
A recent study by the University of Oxford found that tennis is one of the best sports to reduce the risk of early death.
Indeed, the study showed it is far more effective than running.
The Daily Telegraph reported this study by saying:
'Why tennis could save your life - but football and running may not help you live any longer"
The Guardian said:
"Tennis reduces the risk of death at any age".
SOCIAL
It's not just about the physical benefits. Mentally, too, tennis provides great benefits.
You're constantly meeting new people and making new friends. At Rushmere, we hold many popular social sessions where you just turn up and play.
There is growing evidence that social interaction is key for a long, happy life. A happy mental state translates into real physiological effects.
Our club is extremely friendly, and you'll be guaranteed a warm welcome. Just turn up out of the blue to any of the social sessions or send us an email with any questions. You can also use the contact form at the end of this page.
Club members meet up outside tennis for events including our annual games night.
Social sessions ( SUSPENDED during the COVID-19 PANDEMIC )
Monday: 1pm - 4pm
Tuesday: 6pm - 9pm
Wednesday: 6pm - 9pm
Thursday: 1pm - 4pm
Saturday: 9am - 1pm
